Geodes

Geodes are magical little caves, ordinary and rock-like on the outside and lined with twinkling tiny crystal points on the inside!

All geodes are made from agate or quartz, some of which have been dyed to give them their vibrant colours. All the aura quartz shimmery ones have been permanently treated by fusing different metals to it to them in a vacuum.

Geodes are formed by pockets of air being caught within rocks. This can happen after volcanic eruptions when lava cools trapping air bubbles inside it like a huge chocolate Aero. These pockets leave space for groundwater to seep in - though the water itself doesn't produce geodes it is the minerals from the water which stay in the rock even after the water evaporates – mother nature at her best.
